Visitors must display a daily visitor permit or pay the hourly rate in facilities where an hourly rate applies. Faculty, staff and students associated with Duke University or Health System, and individuals who use the resources of Duke University more than twice weekly are not considered visitors and may not display a visitor permit.

If your department needs to provide parking for visitors, choose from among the following options. To order, submit this web form.

Note: If you expect 20 or more visitors, read about events

  • Reserved visitor space - If you own a reserved visitor permit (RSDV), your annual permit fee covers the cost of parking for your visitors. We will provide you with unlimited free Daily Visitor Permits (DVPs) for use in your reserved visitor spaces. The DVPs are issued as printable PDFs. Distribute them via email to your visitors prior to their arrival.
  • Gated facility, permit required to enter/exit - If visitors will park in a gated facility, we offer a scannable daily permit (daily barcode, QR code or DAYQR). These do not expire until the date listed on the permit, but are only valid for the one day they are used. The DAYQRs are issued as printable PDFs. Distribute them via email to your visitors prior to their arrival. $10 each.
  • Parking garage, hourly fee - If your visitors will park in a garage where they will incur an hourly fee, we offer validation tickets that you can provide them before they exit the facility. Prices vary.
