Many students, staff and faculty who live near Duke opt to walk to campus instead driving cars or riding buses. Dedicated walkers tout benefits such as enjoying the scenery, improving their health, and cutting fuel costs.

Many employees who walk to work use Duke Transit buses to attend meetings on campus. City and regional buses offer an option for walkers during inclement weather and to run errands off campus.
