A car-free commute at Duke is easier than ever with GoPass, which allows students, faculty, staff and others to take unlimited rides on GoTriangle and GoRaleighGoDurham and GoCary are fare free for 2024-25 and no boarding credential is required.  With the GoPass, you can hop on a variety of eligible bus routes near campus and your home or office, access your GoPass code using the Umo app, and save time and money while cutting carbon emissions.

Cost

The GoPass is free for faculty, staff, students, visiting scholars, emeriti, temporary and contract employees.  However, you must have a Duke NetID and Duke email address that ends in @duke.edu in order to qualify for a free GoPass.

We provide program guidelines and suggest steps for using the GoPass. Please read this information before requesting your GoPass.

Obtaining Your GoPass

To obtain a GoPass, do the following:

  • Apply for a Umo code at this link and answer all questions on the form
  • You must have a Duke email address (...@duke.edu) and a Duke Unique ID
  • You will receive a confirmation email within a day containing the Umo GoPass Code
  • Download the Umo app on your mobile phone for iOS or Android operating systems and enter the Umo GoPass code you received from Kuali Notifications - GoPass Umo Code
  • The Umo GoPass code is valid the day you receive it.  You are now able to ride the GoTriangle and GoRaleigh routes without charge!
  • No smartphone? No problem! A GoPass Umo Card costs $5 in person and $6 if you have it mailed.  Please note Duke Parking Services will not pay for GoPass cards.
    • Pick Up: Pick one up at the Pass Sales office at the Regional Transit Center, 901 Slater Road, Durham, NC 27703.
    • Call: Call our Regional Information Center at 919-485-RIDE (7433) and have one mailed to you.

GoPass cards are not available at Duke Parking and Transportation Services offices.
