Department Permit Policies
3.7 Permits for Departments
3.7.1 Use of Departmental Funds to Pay for Parking
As part of the campus-wide effort to reduce operating expenses, Parking & Transportation Services will no longer accept departmental funds for shared permits or individual employee permits without prior written authorization from the appropriate Dean or Vice President.
A Dean or Vice President may authorize the use of departmental funds to pay for parking permits to be shared between a number of individuals and not individually assigned to specific members of a department who have job responsibilities which require the use of their personal vehicles to move around campus.
A Dean or Vice President may authorize the use of departmental funds to pay for the additional parking fees associated with a universal parking permit or more expensive permit if an employee already has a permit and their job responsibilities require the use of their personal vehicle to move around campus.
A Dean or Vice President may also authorize the use of departmental funds to pay for visitor parking passes and departmental or university vehicle parking permits.
3.7.2 Purchase and Return of Passes
Day passes for hourly-paid campus visitor areas are valid for one day each, within the date range specified in the scratch-off date portion of the day pass. Day passes are non-refundable. Unused day passes purchased by departments may be exchanged for new day passes upon reaching the final date possible on the day pass date range. However, a maximum of 30 day passes may be exchanged per calendar year, so departments should purchase a quantity appropriate for use within the valid date range.
