There’s a new way for you to pay for visitor parking at Duke. Blue Spot lets you purchase parking in seconds. Blue Spot was developed for the Duke community in a partnership between Duke Parking and Transportation, Duke OIT and Duke Innovation and Entrepreneurship.

Parking with Blue Spot is convenient, easy and secure. Blue Spot allows you to extend your parking session from anywhere on campus. Smartphone users can enter bluespot.duke.edu/hourly on their browser to access the progressive web app.

  • Customers with a Duke NetID - Visit Blue Spot and and log in with your NetID and password
  • Guests without a Duke NetID - Visit Blue Spot and register or log in with OneLink, Duke's guest account.
    • Guests are not required to create an account. Parking information, including vehicle information and receipts, will only be saved for registered users.

To purchase parking:

  • Use your smart phone to scan the QR code on any Blue Spot sign located in the lot
    • Alternatively you can visit bluespot.duke.edu/hourly and select your location from the drop down menu or search by typing in the menu
  • Log in or continue as guest
  • Provide required information
    • Registered users will have their information saved and auto-filled upon sign-in
  • Complete Payment using CyberSource
    • You will receive a receipt via email

Do I also need to pay at the meters or pay station in my visitor lot?

No, if you use Blue Spot for that lot, you should not pay at the meters or pay station.

How does the parking enforcement officer know I’ve paid by phone?

When you pay for parking by phone, your license plate and parking time are automatically displayed on the device used by the parking officer. Users do not need to display a receipt.

How do I add an additional vehicle to my account?

Adding a vehicle may be completed within Blue Spot.

Is it safe to do a credit card transaction on a mobile phone?

Yes. Your credit card number is encrypted when you sign up and is never entered, displayed, or spoken during a transaction.
