Student Permits
With nearly 13,000 students at Duke, the university is continually making strides to provide the best and easiest ways to park on campus. While not every student is guaranteed to be able to park on campus, parking is provided to students based on where they live.
2009-2010 permit registration and renewal begins the week of June 15. More information is available in the sections below:
- First-year students live on East Campus and are eligible for parking around East Campus residence halls.
- Upperclassmen undergraduate residents either live on Central Campus or West Campus.
- Off campus undergraduates park with West Campus residents in the Blue Zone.
- Most Graduate and Professional students commute from off campus to Duke. Parking is provided to graduate and professional students in mid- to low-priced commuter lots throughout campus.
Parking permit fees are charged to each student's Bursar account.
Commuting Alternatives
In addition to spaces on campus, Duke also offers incentives for commuting alternatives.
Why bring a car to campus when you have access to Zipcar?
