How to Register for a Parking Permit
Parking permits for graduate students will be available for online purchase by visiting this page.

Which Lots Should I Choose?
The lots with the greatest availability at the beginning of the academic year are Smith Warehouse, Central Campus, Yellow Zone, Pegram (East Campus) and Mill. Visit the PTS website for more information and to see campus parking maps.
If You are Already on a Waitlist
There are a limited number of Circuit and Green Zone spaces available this year which will be allocated via waitlist invitations. Due to the significant holdover requests for these zones, no Circuit or Green Zone permits will be offered to those signing up for waitlists this summer. If you are already on the Circuit or Green Zone waitlist, please do not remove yourself from the waitlist unless you no longer desire that parking.
Permit Payment
Parking fees are billed to student Bursar accounts. No other method of payment is accepted.
Vehicle Registration
Students who do not have a vehicle when they purchase a permit may enter their Duke Unique ID number in the license information section of the permit order form. When a vehicle and permanent license plate are obtained, students must update vehicle records within 10 business days.
How to Obtain Your Parking Permit
Parking permits purchased online will be mailed to addresses within the continental United States within three to five days. If you do not have a local address that will be valid shortly after you order your permit, please select "Mail to Parking Services" as the mailing address. International students may choose to have their permits mailed to the Parking Services Office.
When to Display Parking Permit
Permits should be displayed on the vehicle upon receipt. Parking Zone enforcement will begin on September 1.
Accessible Parking
Students with permanent physical disabilities must request consideration for handicapped parking each year by filling out an application form and forwarding copies to the Disability Management System.
Evening and Weekend Access to Parking Lots
Your DukeCard (not the Parking Permit) provides access to many parking lots after 5:00 p.m. weekdays and on weekends all year long, excluding times when lots are reserved for events. When attending a special event on campus, your permit allows free parking in lots designated for the general public.
Cost-Saving Alternatives to Driving Alone
Carpool, vanpool, bicycle and Zipcar programs are available for students at Duke. Learn more about the benefits here.
Students who live near Duke in the LaSalle Street area have a way to get to and from campus for free. Duke Transit offers the LaSalle Loop to provide transportation to and from apartment complexes between Erwin Road and Hillsborough Road. Free rides are available Monday through Friday. Stops are approximately every 30 minutes in a continuous loop at existing Durham Area Transit Authority (DATA) bus stops along the route.
