Traffic advisory: Reunion weekend may cause congestion, limited parking

April 12, 2010Parking and Transportation Services is encouraging visitors and members of the Duke community to allow extra time to park and get around campus April 16 to 18 due to Duke Reunions.

Duke will not close campus roads but is setting aside parking for visitors, faculty, staff and Duke alumni. Parking attendants will be on campus to assist with the flow of traffic and answer questions. Members of the public and Duke community are encouraged to review the parking locations to plan accordingly this weekend.

Special events and tours begin during the morning of Friday, April 16. Saturday will feature several events that may increase traffic:
  • 11 a.m. - President Richard Brodhead will give his “State of the University” speech to alumni in Page Auditorium.
  • 1 p.m. - The women’s tennis team will host a match against Florida State University at the Ambler Tennis Stadium.
  • 2 p.m. - Singer Jackson Browne will receive the Nicolas School of the Environment’s LEAF Award in Page Auditorium.
  • 7 p.m. - The weekend’s Reunion Gala will take place on West Campus.
The weekend will conclude with at 4 p.m. Sunday with a concert at Duke Chapel. To see a full schedule of events, click here.
