All Zipcar vehicles repaired following Toyota recall
All five Toyota vehicles available at Duke through the Zipcar car-sharing program are now available for reservations.
Beth Campbell, transportation administrator for Duke Parking and Transportation Services, said Zipcar has repaired two Toyota Prius models and three Matrix models available to members of the Duke community. The vehicles were part of a worldwide recall by Toyota to fix defects with the Prius' brake pedal and the Matrix' accelerator
Zipcar is in charge of making sure all the cars are taken care of and all costs are covered by the Massachusetts car-sharing company, Campbell said.
The cars are back in their designated spots on the West Campus Quad, in the surface lot near the Bryan Center parking garage and on East Campus on Campus Drive.
Campbell said that Duke has ordered a Honda Civic to add to Duke's fleet and has requested a hybrid model.
