Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Service Adjustments

Parking and Transportation Services is pleased to announce that parking is available at no charge in the patient and visitor areas of some garages on Jan. 18, the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.  Van services will be provided to many areas.  However, since more parking decks will be open, van service will not run to-and-from off-site areas, including the LaSalle Street overflow lot, Hillsborough Road lot and Greystone Baptist Church.

Parking Access - January 18

Parking Garage I - Trent Drive at Duke Clinics

Free parking.  Pull ticket at patient/visitor entrances to access the garage.  Exit through any gate.

Parking Garage II - Erwin Road across from Duke Hospital

Free parking.  Pull ticket at patient/visitor entrances to access the garage.  Exit through any gate.

Parking Garage III - Fulton Street at North Pavilion

Free parking.  Pull ticket at patient/visitor entrances to access the garage.  Exit through any gate.  *Note:  No van or transit service will be provided at Parking Garage III.
Parking Garage IV - Science Drive at the Bryan Center Reserved for event and permit parking only.
Research Drive Garage Reserved for permit parking only.

Eye Center Parking

This lot is reserved for patients at all times.  Citations will be issued and towing will be enforced.
Surface Lots Access will be comparable to weekend parking.

As close-in parking opportunities exist, Duke Transit will adjust its bus and van services on Monday, January 18.

 Transit Service - January 18

Hospital (H routes), Park and Ride (PR), Smith-West, LaSalle Loop and Robertson Scholars routes will not operate on January 18.  Customers are encouraged to park in available garage spaces.
SafeRides and Medical Center Van Services will remain in service on Jan. 18.  However, as the parking decks will be available to all permit owners, service will not be provided to-and-from off-site parking areas including LaSalle Street overflow lot, Hillsborough Road lot, and Greystone Baptist Church.
Route C-2  (East - Central - West) will operate from 7:15 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Route C-1   (East - West) will operate from 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.
Route C-4   (West - Central) will operate from 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.
All routes resume regular schedules on Tuesday, January 19.

The Parking Services Office on Coal Pile Drive will be closed on Monday, January 18, in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday.
