Duke Buses
Duke Transit operates more than 30 buses with routes throughout the campus and health system. Keep in mind that some Duke campus buses and vans have alternate schedules or do not operate during breaks and holidays.
Campus Routes
Campus routes connect residential, academic, and perimeter lots on East, Central, North (Trent), and West campuses. Campus service is in effect during the academic year.
- C-1 - East-West Weekday travels between East Campus and West Campus. Service is every 3-6 minutes from 7:40 a.m. until 4:20 p.m. and subsequently every 10 minutes. Serves East Campus, West Campus, and Campus Drive bus stops.
- C-1 - East-West Weekends travels between East Campus and West Campus. Service is every 10-20 minutes.
- C-2 - East-Central-West Weekday travels between East, West and Central Campus. Service is every 10 minutes until 8 p.m. Serves Alexander Avenue, Trent, Anderson Street and Swift Avenue (Eastbound only) bus stops.
- C-2W - Summer East-Central-West travels between East, West and Central Campus. Serves Alexander Avenue, Trent, and Anderson Street bus stops. The C-2W Weekend travels the same route but has a different schedule.
- C-3 - Central-East-Science Drive Weekday travels between Central Campus, East Campus and Science Drive. Service is every 15 minutes. Serves Science Drive, Duke University Road parking, Anderson Street, Alexander Street and East Campus bus stops.
- C-4 - West - Central travels between West and Central Campus evenings and weekends. Service is every 15 minutes.
- C-5 - Duke Bull City Express connects West and Central Campuses with 9th Street and Brightleaf Square on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights during the academic year.
- C-6 - Service to Erwin Mill Building operates between West Campus, Erwin Mill Building and East Campus on weekdays.
To & From Campus Routes
- The LaSalle Loop connecting LaSalle Street, Campus Walk Avenue and Morreene Road, with Research Drive, Entry 11 and Circuit Drive.
- Service to the Erwin Mill Building runs during the fall and spring semesters only.
- Campus Parking Shuttles routes connect Bassett Drive/Green Zone parking to buildings along Science Drive and Circuit Drive.
- Robertson Scholars route provides service between Duke and UNC-Chapel Hill.
- C-5 - Duke Bull City Express connects West and Central Campuses with 9th Street and Brightleaf Square on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights during the academic year.
- C-6 - Service to Erwin Mill Building operates between West Campus, Erwin Mill Building and East Campus on weekdays.
- PR-1 - Bassett Drive Lot Shuttle from the Grounds Lot at Bassett Drive along Science Drive, Circuit Drive, and Research Drive to Entry 11. The Parking Shuttle Route provides year-round service, weekdays only.
Hospital Routes
Medical Center routes connect surface and garage parking to Hospital North, Hospital South, and administrative buildings. This service operates year round, weekdays only.
- H-1 - Parking Garage 3 - Hospital North - Hospital South travels between PG3, Hospital North (Erwin Road entrance), and Hospital South (Entry 11).
- H-2 - Parking Garage 3 - Hospital North travels between PG3 and Hospital North (Erwin Road entrance).
- H-3 - Hillsborough Road - Hospital North - Hospital South travels between Hillsborough Road parking lots, Anderson/Yearby parking lots, Hospital South (main entrance), and Hospital North (main entrance).
- H-5 - Mill Building Shuttle travels between 705 Broad Street, the Mill Building, Wachovia building, Hospital North (main entrance), Hospital South (main entrance), and Hock Plaza.
- H-6 - LaSalle Street Overflow Lot Shuttle travels between the overflow lot on LaSalle Street, Research Drive, and Hospital North (main entrance).
City & Regional Routes
- Durham Area Transit Authority (DATA) provides service throughout the city of Durham.
- Triangle Transit Regional & Express provides service to Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary, Apex, Hillsborough and Garner.
- Capital Area Transit provides service throughout the city of Raleigh.
