Discount Bus Passes

Duke is offering GoPass, a free regional bus pass. Employees whose offices are on the East, West, Central and Medical Center campuses; at the American Tobacco Campus; or within one-half mile of the East, West, Central or Medical campuses are eligible for GoPass. All undergraduate, graduate and professional school students are eligible as well. As part of the new program, Duke will discontinue the discount bus pass program July 29, 2011.

Duke Parking and Transportation Services offers discount city and regional bus passes at a savings of up to 60 percent for students, staff and faculty. Bus passes can be purchased through Duke for transportation with Durham Area Transit Authority, Triangle Transit Regional and Triangle Transit Express. Passengers with a regional or Express pass can also board a Capital Area Transit bus for connections to Durham Area Transit Authority and Triangle Transit buses. Visit GoTriangle for city and regional bus route maps and schedules.

Those who join the automatic renewal program for 31-day bus passes and choose payroll deduction or Bursar billing will receive additional savings. For benefits-eligible employees, those savings will be on a pre-tax basis.

The discount bus pass for 20 one-way trips can only be purchased with cash, check or credit card, and the pre-tax savings will not apply.
