Accessible Transportation

Duke offers accessible transportation on campus vans and buses in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. All Duke Transit vehicles are equipped to accommodate wheelchairs.

Here is a map of the campus and health facilities that highlights accessible paths of travel, along with parking and entrances for individuals with disabilities.

Students and employees with permanent physical disabilities who want to apply for a handicapped parking permit at Duke must submit a request each year by filling out an application form and submitting it to Duke’s Employee Occupational Health (EOHW) and Wellness (EOHW) and the Disability Management System. After review, EOHW advises Parking and Transportation Services of their recommendations. We then contact the applicant with information on how to obtain their permits. For more information, visit the website for Duke’s Disability Management System or call (919) 668-6213.

Students with temporary physical disabilities may apply for van services by completing this form.  Please note that rides may not always be available, as they are based upon availability of resources.
