Accessible Parking & Transportation

In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), we provide accessible parking and transportation options. Our campus map provides detail about accessible entrances, parking, routes, and more.

Duke Transit & Vans

Our buses and vans accommodate wheelchairs.

Paratransit Services

If you're a student and need transportation between your residence hall and classroom or academic activities, you can apply for Duke paratransit services. Upon approval, you'll receive details on how to schedule weekday rides and request evening/weekend van service.

For local and regional paratransit service, use GoDurham Access or GoTriangle T-Linx.

Accessible Parking

We provide accessible parking for faculty, staff, and students with permanent and temporary disabilities.

For visitors, handicapped accessible parking spaces are available throughout campus, including in parking garages and in metered spaces. You must display a state-issued handicapped parking placard.

Permanent Disabilities

If you're a student or employee with a permanent disability and need a parking permit, you need to qualify for ADA parking each permit year (Duke's permit year begins Aug. 16). Duke's Disability Management System advises us on all requests for ADA parking.

Short-Term Temporary Disabilities (less than 3 months)

If you need temporary ADA parking arrangements for a disability lasting less than three months, follow the instructions below.

Long-Term Temporary Disabilities (over 3 months)

If you need ADA parking for longer than three months, follow the instructions below.
