Duke's Green Garage
Duke's new Research Drive Garage will open Jan. 4 as the university's latest effort in sustainability. Unique aspects of the garage are its green features, which include two 10,000 gallon cisterns that collect rainwater for landscaping; overhead canopies that use plants to provide shade on the roof; and parking spaces with electrical outlets for re-charging hybrid vehicles.
